A CHRISTIAN ONLINE COURSE FOR LASTING EMOTIONAL HEALING: LAUNCHING 12 OCTOBER 2026

The Well

to Wholeness

Ten guided modules that give you the tools to heal, because healing, done properly, is a work that can actually be completed, not a project you manage for the rest of your life.

Written and taught by Mia Patten, author of In the Well

WATCH FIRST

Watch a short sample from the course

Before you decide whether The Well to Wholeness is right for you, I want you to have a sense of how I teach and what you can expect from the course.

This short extract gives you a glimpse into the approach we will take together, combining biblical truth, practical insight and space for personal reflection as we work towards greater healing and wholeness.

The full course goes much deeper, with structured teaching, reflection exercises, key Scriptures and practical steps to help you apply what you are learning to your own life.

THE PROBLEM

Some healing never seems to move

WHAT KEEPS PEOPLE STUCK

Years of "processing" the same wound, without it ever really closing

Church cultures that frame healing as permanent, so you stay in the posture of the wounded indefinitely

Scripture without psychology, or psychology without Scripture, never both held together in the right order

Surface-level encouragement for a wound that was never surface-level

No real way to know how far you've come or how far there is left to go

WHAT THIS COURSE OFFERS INSTEAD

A structured, ten-module path covering the core components a genuine healing journey requires to reach completion

Scripture held as the ultimate authority, with the insights of psychology applied under the leading of the Holy Spirit

Honest work on identity, shame, anger, grief, forgiveness, boundaries, and attachment

A personal roadmap so you can see, concretely, where you are in the process

A destination, because wholeness, by definition, is something you can actually arrive at

God's intention was never to keep you managing your brokenness.

His intention is complete healing, and that is the foundation this course is built on.

WHO IT'S FOR

Is this course for you?

01

You've already done some healing work (counselling, prayer ministry, and inner work) but you still feel stuck in the same patterns.

03

Your story involves real harm: abuse, neglect, rejection, or a childhood that didn't give you what a childhood should, and you're ready to look at it honestly.

02

You know something needs to change, but you're not sure what healing should actually look like or where to begin.

04

You're somewhere in the messy middle of a healing process that's taking longer and proving harder than you expected, and you want a map, not just more comfort.

This course teaches a framework. It isn't a substitute for professional therapy or crisis support.

See the FAQs below for more on that.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Ten modules, one complete journey

Each module builds on the last, moving from foundations, to the deep healing work, to what it looks like to actually come out the other side.

01 Course Overview & the Cross

What wholeness actually is, how the course works, and the role of the Cross in healing.

02 Trusting God as Father

The role a father was meant to play, how God fathers us in healing, and the common blockages that prevent us from reaching wholeness.

03 The Holy Spirit, Self-Awareness & the Word

Building the self-awareness that healing depends on, and letting Scripture do its deep work.

04 Rejection and Shame

Naming two of the most common and most hidden wounds, and what God does with each.

05 Identity and Renewing the Mind

Rebuilding a sense of self on ground that actually holds, and the practical work of renewing the mind.

06 Anger and Grief

Practical tools for processing anger and grief instead of suppressing or managing around them.

07 Forgiveness & Family Relationships Now

Forgiveness that doesn't pretend, and how to relate to family in the present in a way that is honouring but remains safe.

08 Boundaries and Attachment

The right to say no, and the practical work of forming secure, trustworthy attachments.

09 Spiritual Warfare, the New Age & Deliverance

How the New Age offers a counterfeit answer to healing, how abuse and brokenness can leave you open spiritually, and what deliverance actually addresses.

10 Coming Home to Yourself

The non-linear nature of healing, the difference between healing and growth, and recognising the ground of wholeness when you're standing on it.

COURSE OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, you'll be able to

Articulate what wholeness truly is, and see how the Cross, the Father's love, and the Holy Spirit form the foundation of real, completable healing.

Identify the roots of your own pain, including rejection, shame, anger, and grief, and gain tools to face and work through them.

Practise forgiveness, healthy boundaries, and secure attachment in your relationships with yourself, God, and others.

See how healing can actually reach completion, not merely be managed indefinitely, and recognise what it looks like to arrive.

Build a secure identity grounded in truth rather than in your wounds, your performance, or other people's opinions.

Leave with a personal roadmap that shows where you are now and the path toward completing your healing.

ABOUT YOUR GUIDE

Mia Patten

Mia became a Christian at twenty-two, in the mid-1990s and not long after, felt God call her into a season of deep inner healing, one He named for her, in prophecy, as being "in the well." That season lasted years, not weeks.

She grew up under a father living with Antisocial Personality Disorder, in a home marked by control, verbal abuse, and daily psychological harm. It shaped her far beyond childhood. What followed, over the course of about five years, was a deliberate, relentless healing journey, one that wove Scripture and psychology together and that she gave herself to without reservation.

Now, years later, that journey became the book In the Well: Finding Healing and Wholeness with God. The Well to Wholeness course takes the same path and turns it into something structured.

"I wanted to be healed, and I was relentless about it. I don't want you to have to find the way through on your own."

— Mia Patten, author of In the Well

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

No. The course stands on its own and goes deeper than the book, though it draws from it. Reading the book isn't necessary, but it can be a helpful companion.

No. Mia is not a licensed therapist or counsellor, and this course is teaching, not clinical treatment. If you're in crisis, or need professional mental health support, please seek a qualified therapist, alongside this course, if that's helpful, not instead of it.

Each module contains two to three lessons, designed to help you move from understanding into practical application.

Each lesson includes:

  • Learning Objectives – a clear overview of what you will understand and take away from the lesson.

  • Teaching Video – a focused biblical teaching to introduce and explain the core concepts.

  • Written Teaching – supporting notes that allow you to explore the lesson in greater depth and return to the material at your own pace.

  • Key Scriptures – carefully selected Bible passages that underpin the teaching.

  • Pause & Reflect – guided questions to help you consider how the teaching applies personally to your own life and experience.

  • Workbook Exercise – a practical exercise completed using your downloadable course workbook.

  • With God – a dedicated workbook section that encourages you to bring what you are learning into prayer, reflection and conversation with God.

  • Key Truths – a concise summary of the most important truths from the lesson to help reinforce your learning.

Not at all. This course is open to anyone, whether you're a committed Christian, exploring faith, or unsure where you stand. All that's needed is an openness to the Christian foundations the course is built on, Scripture, prayer, and a relationship with God are central to how it's taught.

Mia's approach combines academic rigour with lived experience, all held under the authority of scripture. She's studied the psychological theory behind trauma, attachment, and emotional healing in depth and then walked that theory out in her own healing journey with God. This course isn't therapy; it's a healing framework, an overview of what the journey toward wholeness with God can look like, drawing on both solid research and personal, tested experience.

If you're currently in crisis, experiencing active abuse, or need urgent mental health support, please reach out to a qualified professional or crisis service first. This course is designed for reflective, guided healing work, not emergency care.
